Overview:
We at Thrive Center are actively seeking passionate and dedicated therapists in Speech-Language Pathology for hybrid opportunities during the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development, ensuring they have the necessary skills to excel academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to gather relevant information for assessments.
  • Interpret assessment results and communicate findings to parents, teachers, and relevant team members.

2. Individualized Intervention:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with various communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the academic curriculum.

3. Collaboration and Consultation:
  • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support students in inclusive classrooms.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and parents on strategies to enhance communication skills in various settings.
  • Attend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.

4. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Prepare detailed reports for IEP meetings and other relevant conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding documentation and reporting.

5. Professional Development:
  • Stay current with research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning within the school community.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • New York State Teaching Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt intervention strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
